Protecting Childhood Innocence Starts Here

Parents today are overwhelmed. They are handed books with vague descriptions, hidden themes, and no real way to know what their children are being exposed to. Families deserve clarity. Children deserve protection.

That is why BookLens exists.

A Parent-First Platform Families Can Trust

BookLens is a breakthrough, parent-first platform that cuts through the noise and gives families honest, values-aligned insight into what is inside the books their children bring home. It is simple. It is trustworthy. And it is built for the world we are living in right now.

BookLens is not just another app — it is a shield. We protect it with the same seriousness that parents protect their children.

Secure. Independent. Uncompromising.

  • Exclusive ownership of all code, models, and data
  • Encrypted, secure infrastructure that keeps families safe
  • Mission-aligned contracts that prevent misuse or exploitation
  • Continuous monitoring and backups to ensure reliability

Advocacy

Citizens for Decency actively engages in advocacy efforts to protect families, defend religious liberty, and influence public policy in alignment with biblical values.

Our Advocacy Work

One of our most urgent initiatives has been exposing explicit and sexually inappropriate content found in public and school libraries. Through extensive research and documentation efforts, we identified numerous titles in school libraries containing graphic sexual material and adult themes inappropriate for minors.

Investigations into library collections at DCHS, AHS, and OHS revealed books containing explicit sexual content, graphic nudity, abusive sexual acts, and other mature themes categorized as inappropriate for children and teens.

These discoveries became a defining turning point for our organization and directly inspired the creation of BookLens, BookTelescope, and the Daily Publishers Sweep. Families needed tools that could quickly identify harmful content and provide trustworthy, values-aligned insight.

Examples of Concerning Titles Found in School Libraries

  • DCHS Library: All Boys Aren’t Blue, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Bluest Eye, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Water for Elephants
  • AHS Library: Living Dead Girl, Like A Love Story, The Kite Runner, It’s Perfectly Normal
  • OHS Library: The Lovely Bones, The Handmaid’s Tale, Identical, Strange Truth

Reviews and documentation for many of these titles were referenced through RatedBooks.org and BookLooks.org as part of our ongoing research and educational outreach efforts.

  • Investigating inappropriate and explicit materials in libraries
  • Tracking legislation that impacts families and children
  • Mobilizing citizens to contact elected officials
  • Organizing community awareness campaigns
  • Partnering with like-minded organizations

Media Response & Public Accountability

As our advocacy efforts gained attention, local media outlets and activist groups frequently mischaracterized our mission and positions. In response, our website became a critical hub for transparency, documentation, and direct rebuttal of misinformation.

Our Media Response section has become one of the most visited areas of our website because it provides citizens with original source material, detailed responses to public claims, policy analysis, and documented evidence connected to our advocacy work.

What Our Media Response Work Includes

  • Point-by-point responses to misleading media coverage
  • Documentation and analysis of public statements
  • Policy and legal research related to library and school content issues
  • Public education regarding obscenity law, parental rights, and age-appropriate standards
  • Archiving original articles and publishing detailed rebuttals for transparency

Rather than allowing false narratives to stand unchallenged, Citizens for Decency documents claims, publishes source-backed responses, and encourages citizens to examine the evidence for themselves.
